2 Timothy 4:6-8
6 I’m already being poured out like a sacrifice to God, and the time of my death is near. 7 I have fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. 8 At last the champion’s wreath that is awarded for righteousness[a] is waiting for me. The Lord, who is the righteous[b] judge, is going to give it to me on that day. He’s giving it not only to me but also to all those who have set their heart on waiting for his appearance.Reflection:
In elementary school, once a year they would have a time where we had to run 4 laps around the football field. This is not my gift. I did not like running. Somehow, running in a circle made it worse for me. I would get bored. I didn't enjoy it at all. I remember wishing one time right before it that I would sprain my ankle or something. I did receive joy from finishing it. Not necessarily a sense of accomplishment, but knowing it was done. I probably did not keep the faith strong in that moment, but we know what it means to try hard and keep going strong because that joy that will receive is something to celebrate. That joy we receive in life is from God. May you find joy in being strong and living for God.
Reflection Questions:
Morning: Has there ever been a time when you dreaded a task?
Afternoon: How did you feel when you finished it?
Evening: How will you keep up the fight, keep the faith, and finish strong?
