March 15, 2015: Isaiah 43:19

We encourage you to read this devotion three times a day.  Start in the morning and reflect upon the morning reflection question. Then in the afternoon, read it again and reflect using the noon question for reflection.  For the evening, take time to ponder how this has resonated with you in the day and reflecting using the evening question.  We offer a prayer with each devotion for you to pray or we invite you to pray what is in your heart.
  Isaiah 43:19
See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?  I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Reflection:
Many of us walk the same paths every day.  As creatures of habit, we like to stay in our spiritual comfort zones.  We can get in the habit of acting out our faith in the same ways week after week.  Maybe the way to create or generate God’s spirit within us is to try a new adventure with God.   God says to us, “I am making a way in the wilderness…”.  When was the last time you went into the wilderness without plan?  Or took a leap of faith without a net?  Is your spiritual life boring?  Many of us don’t do the “God thing” because we think it will be boring.  God doesn’t want us to be bored or be boring!  Okay people, it’s time to take a new path or try a new plan.  Your walking assignment for this is to take a new and unfamiliar route and let God lead the way.
Reflection Questions:
Morning: As you look ahead to the day, do you have any plans that are new and different?  Why or why not?
Noon:  Have you experienced any unknown factors in your day?  How can God lead you through the unknown?  Is the unknown exciting or scary for you?
Evening:  As you rest tonight, reflect on the journey of the day. Has your spiritual life become boring or routine?  Pray again the prayer for today.
Prayer:  Holy and exciting God, give me a new adventure with you!  Take me out of my spiritual comfort zone and help me to see and experience you in new ways.
