August 10, 2015: 1 Corinthians 15:20-26

1 Corinthians 15:20-26

20 But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have died. 21For since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead has also come through a human being; 22for as all die in Adam, so all will be made alive in Christ. 23But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. 24Then comes the end, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father, after he has destroyed every ruler and every authority and power. 25For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

Reflection:
This particular passage moves us back into Easter.  We are reminded of the story of Jesus' death and resurrection.  I believe this passage is a story of reminder for us.  We often forget that we are Easter people always.  We need to be celebrating the life that comes through Christ.  How often do you take time to think about the resurrection and what that means for your life?  Truly, it means God's will for life, eternal and abundant, is among us! May we remember to celebrate the life that comes from death.

Prayer:
Oh Holy One! May we remember the life that You bring to us. May we remember to celebrate and remember what you have done and are doing in our lives.  Help us to not live in destruction but in hope.  Guide us to be more and more like You. Amen.
